Amazon is charging sellers $1,500 to list certain brands

If third-party sellers want to sell Nikes or Adidas on Amazon, it’ll cost them. 

Amazon is charging sellers as much as $1,500 to list certain brands in their stores. The flat fee is charged per brand, CNBC reported this week. 

The move is part of an effort to stop the sale of counterfeit goods on AmazonBirkenstock announced it would take its products off Amazon entirely because of concerns over counterfeit products last month. 

But the policy will affect legitimate sellers as well as counterfeit sellers. All will have to pay the nonrefundable fee to stock brands that include Nike, Adidas and Hasbro.  Read more…
